I can’t even begin to explain how great summer has been to me since my last blog post, but I’ll leave you with something that gets my blood pumping and adrenaline rushing: World Cup 2014 in Brazil.
If you know even the slightest bit about me, you’ll know that soccer has been my passion since I was in elementary school. Though I no longer play for a team or club, I keep up with my favourite club, Liverpool FC. And when the Euro Championships and World Cup rolls around, I stick to my favourite national teams: Brazil, Spain, and due to blood loyalty, Iran.
I’ve supported Brazil for as long as I can remember as my dad and I would always root for them. This could be in part because my dad often travelled to Brazil and would bring me back an array of Brazil jersey’s, including Kaka #10. As for Spain, I must have a Spanish vein somewhere in my blood, because my loyalty to this team feels native. Despite whatever people say about his playing style since his transfer to Chelsea, I’ll be sporting my Fernando Torres #9 jersey on Spain game days. And lastly, I’m Persian so I must support my national team, you know, just for the sake of it.
So place your bets and get ready, it’s less than a week away!
