Ever since the summer, I’ve found a great affinity for turtles. Reading this first sentence may make you question what the hell goes on in my mind sometimes. But there’s a reason for everything, so hear me out.
It finally came to my senses this past summer while at Camp Texas. As I was drying off from the aftermath of the colour war, (my white shirt being horrendously stained with red, purple, blue, and orange masses) someone asked me what my spirit animal was. Without even thinking, I said “a turtle.” She looked at me with a crooked smile, furrowing her eyebrows, asking why I would pick a turtle as my spirit animal. So my reasoning was simple: because I look like one, duh. She didn’t believe me until I made the turtle face, and that’s when it became evident that my spirt animal was in fact a turtle.
So now, several months later, I came up with something called Turtle Tuesday. It started as a self-made Snapchat trend… but it’s growing into something like a trademark of my freshman year.
Before I make this post too long about how I’m basically a turtle, I’ll just show you some pictures that will convince you of it.
And finally, I wouldn’t be able to do it without the support of my family and friends. Shout out to my sister for helping me make it a thing. So there you have it. If you’re not convinced, just ask me to do it in person. On a Tuesday, of course.
Update from 12/31/13
The Last #TurtleTuesday of the Year
With 2013 coming to a close, I just wanted to leave this with you all. It’s a index of just a number of Turtle Tuesday Snapchats I’ve received from my friends. Though Turtle Tuesday is something silly I came up with due to a striking resemblance between myself and well, turtles… I get so much fun out of it with this little trend I call Turtle Tuesday.
So here it is, chances are if you’re reading this, you’re probably in this index. I just want to thank everyone who has ever sent me a Turtle Tuesday Snapchat because honestly it makes my day when I see my friends act silly in response to my ridiculous Turtle Tuesday trend. And now, December 31st is the last Turtle Tuesday of 2013, I love you all, and have an incredibly happy new year!
